Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
Airlines and Terminals
(Minneapolis, Minnesota - MN, USA)
Operating as a joint public use / military air facility and located in Hennepin County, close to Fort Snelling, Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is served by many domestic and international airlines. Of interest, this is the busiest and the largest of all the airports based within the upper Midwest region (comprised of the states of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin).
There are two separate terminals in operation here, each of which is named after famous locals. The Lindbergh Terminal is named after Charles Augustus Lindbergh (1902 to 1974), a famous American aviator, and is the biggest of the two. Past US Vice President Hubert Horatio Humphrey (1911 to 1978) is the namesake of the smaller Humphrey Terminal, which was built in 1986 and expanded at the beginning of the new millennium.
Each of the two terminals are connected to downtown Minneapolis and nearby Bloomington's 'Mall of America' by the light railway system named the Hiawatha Line. There are also people movers operating onsite, ensuring that passengers can reach the Hub Building and Concourse C with ease.
